Open Positions
Tax Senior
Candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time with a strong basic tax & accounting background. Candidate will need to possess good verbal and written communication skills, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, and the ability to adapt to a variety of circumstances. This job will require time management and priority management on the part of the Candidate, so self-motivation is a must. The position requires the understanding of payroll, personal income tax, corporate, partnership and estate tax, and tax planning, as well as being able to understand and comprehend many different bases of accounting. The position will require extended hours and will not allow for time off between January 1st and April 15th. The position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, 401(k) matching, and health benefits, as well as paid time off.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts
- Payroll processing and bookkeeping as needed to facilitate tax return preparation
- Performing engagements in an efficient manner to meet deadlines
- Learning how to develop relationships with clients
- Providing tax planning and consulting for clients to help them achieve their goals
- Engaging in tax research on a wide range of issues
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 3+ years recent public accounting experience
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude with desire to be an integral part of a team
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Ultra Tax, Accounting CS and/or FileCabinet, and proficiency in QuickBooks is a plus, but not a requirement
